Fly-Tipping on Featherstone Road, UB2 – Rubbish Outside the Doctor’s Surgery and Car Park

Why Focus on Featherstone Road?

Featherstone Road (UB2) is a busy street in Southall, home to shops, families, schools, and the Featherstone Road Health Centre. Nearby, the Featherstone Terrace Car Park is regularly used by patients and visitors.

These should be safe, clean spaces where residents feel looked after. Instead, both have become dumping grounds for rubbish.

The Reality on the Ground

Our submitted images show the shocking state of Featherstone Road:

  • Rubbish piled outside the doctor’s surgery, including bin bags, old clothes, and broken items.
  • Children’s toys dumped in the street symbolise how even the youngest residents are forced to grow up surrounded by waste.
  • Black bags and rubble were left scattered across pavements, blocking paths for prams and wheelchairs.
  • Bulky waste, including mattresses and fridges, was dumped near the surgery entrance.
  • The Featherstone Terrace Car Park is littered with rubbish, leaving patients to park among fly-tipped waste.

The Impact on Patients and Residents

  • Patients visiting the surgery — many elderly, unwell, or with mobility issues — are forced to navigate unsafe, dirty pavements.
  • Families on the school run see mattresses, broken glass, and piles of rubbish blocking pavements.
  • Businesses nearby suffer as customers avoid the area.
  • Visitors to the car park face health hazards and embarrassment.

The fact that even a road leading to a doctor’s surgery and one of Southall’s car park are neglected shows how badly Southall is being treated.

Why Is Fly-Tipping So Bad Here?

Featherstone Road faces a combination of problems:

  • High footfall and traffic make it an easy target for dumping.
  • Car parks and side streets provide hidden spots for illegal tipping.
  • Despite repeated reports, Ealing Council delays clean-ups.
  • No CCTV, no fines, no deterrent.

What Residents Are Saying

“Every week rubbish piles up outside the surgery. We’ve reported it over and over, but nothing changes.” – Patient at Featherstone GP

“Even the car park is a mess — it’s dangerous and embarrassing for our community.” – Southall resident

What Needs to Change

  1. Urgent clean-ups outside the surgery and in the car park.
  2. Regular monitoring of Featherstone Road hotspots.
  3. CCTV cameras at the car park and surgery entrance.
  4. Equal standards — Southall deserves the same service as central Ealing.

Southall Deserves Better

No patient should have to visit their doctor and face piles of dumped rubbish.
No family should have to push a pram through a car park full of waste.

This is about health, dignity, and respect.

Southall deserves better — and together, we can demand it.
