RISE, Please Leave Southall

Hi All,
@Philip Keighley
Since R.I.S.E have opened up in Southall, all hell has broken loose in our town. I’m not sure whose bright idea this was, to open up a druggie centre in Southall Town Hall, but for the last 3 weeks things have become worse.
Our community group has been inundated with calls, and we have had to calm the situation down so that things do not get out of hand, hence why I am sending this email.
Here is a daily breakdown of what Southall residents have to go through on a daily basis:
- Drug takers using the alleyway to openly defecate while mothers and young children are walking to school (St Joseph’s Drive).
- Increase in shoplifting taking place, police simply not interested (impacting local businesses and leading to loss of revenue).
- Open drug taking outside schools, including injecting (residents and kids are impacted). This is taking place on Villiers Rd, Avenue Rd, Cambridge Rd, Beresford Rd — pretty much every surrounding area.
- Violent street muggings (attacks and robberies against our elderly).
- Not to mention the anti-social behaviour that has also increased.
Before things get out of hand, I would suggest that you and the people named on this thread take this as a major concern.
In a nutshell, the residents have had enough. A possible solution would be to relocate R.I.S.E to:
Perceval House, 14/16 Uxbridge Road, Ealing W5 2HL.
The residents were NOT consulted, and it looks like the Southall Labour Cllrs signed this off without informing the residents.
Can you also confirm when you will be leaving so that we can inform our residents?
Police matters (@Jill)
We have seen no police relating to the above points, and this needs to change.
No one needs your data insights, as we all have eyes that still function, and we can inform you that there are no police patrols. You are equally guilty of turning a blind eye while the crime continues.
Your officers need to get out of Southall Station and increase patrols around the above-mentioned roads. There are zero excuses not to do so, as our council tax pays for the police, and if you don’t have resources then take it up with your superiors.

Just in case you are wondering why residents have not complained to you, it is very simple:
Both your telephone numbers are wrong.
The poor souls whose numbers are being used are not very happy, some using very strong language against you two.
I would suggest that you both put down the correct mobile numbers so that our poor residents can contact you.
As one resident put it: “After the election was over, they were never seen again.”
“They are probably washed up on a beach like a couple of beached whales.”
It’s a very interesting nickname you both have earned — WELL DONE.
@Jasbir.Anand@ealing.gov.uk
Since you signed this off, you will now be held accountable for every single mugging and attack against our families.
You probably do not live in that area, because let’s face it, no one can be that stupid.
These druggies that are attached to R.I.S.E , that you signed off and relocated to a poor community , may attack and rob members of your family, just like they have ours.
When it comes to business, just like the rife shoplifting, it may impact you as well.
A few hours ago, I walked past your shitty little snack van located at the top of the hill on the Green (courtesy of a well‑known property group and Mr J.S — nudge nudge, wink wink — keeping it in the Labour family, we see).
There is now a group of druggies congregating outside your van, and they were placing bets on who could knock it over the hill with a flying kick, sending it toppling down the hill.
I strongly suggest that you report this to the police, and personally thank me for informing you.
It was an interesting interaction. As they say, “What you sow is what you reap.”
There are also rumours that you don’t attend meetings.
As you are the Cabinet Member for Tackling Crime and Antisocial Behaviour, I urge you to get a grip and send out communications to our residents in the form of a newsletter, so that we all know what is going on.
And if you are unable to structure one, then I suggest that you take some assistance from John Martin, who I’m sure will kindly guide you.
I look forward to all your responses.
Sukhi Floria
