To all Southall Ward Councillors,
What exactly are you doing for Southall? Because from where we stand as residents, the answer is: absolutely nothing of value.
Our community is collapsing under your watch, and you’ve allowed it to happen. You make grand promises, publish empty statements, and pose for photos—but when it comes to real action, you are nowhere to be seen.
Here’s the brutal reality that you’ve chosen to ignore:
• CPZs are a mess – confusing, inconsistently enforced, and punishing ordinary residents while ignoring the real issues.
• Fly-tipping is out of control, with piles of rotting waste left for weeks. Your “tape it off and ignore it” strategy is a joke.
• Cars mount pavements daily, blocking pedestrians, wheelchairs, and prams. And yet – no enforcement, no deterrent.
• Unregulated HMOs are multiplying, creating overcrowded, unsafe living conditions and fuelling waste and anti-social behaviour.
• Pavements are broken and dangerous, yet still ignored – until someone ends up in A&E.
• There are no safe crossings on Southall Broadway. Children and the elderly risk their lives to get across the road. Still nothing done.
• No ward forums – clearly a convenient way for councillors to avoid facing residents and being held to account.
• No local police station, and it shows. Southall is lawless.
• Noise, chaos, and anti-social behaviour every night, thanks to uncontrolled late-night venues and zero oversight.
And worst of all:
• Drug dealers and users openly operate on our streets, in plain view.
• People are injecting, smoking, and selling drugs in broad daylight, just yards from schools, shops, and family homes.
• Used needles and drug paraphernalia are scattered across pavements, alleys, and even outside people’s front doors.
•also the closure of 3 children’s centres in Southall -Greenfields, Windmill Park and Grove House it’s tough enough as it is without removing support for children and parents yet Ealing council want to close these centres !
This is a serious public health hazard, a child could easily pick up a needle tomorrow — and yet this council does nothing.
Let’s be absolutely clear: you are not listening, and you are not delivering.
Southall residents are fed up with being dismissed, ignored, and left to live in squalor while you sit comfortably in Perceval House. If you can’t even get the basics right – clean streets, working pavements, safe crossings, and police presence – what exactly is your job?
You were elected to represent us. Right now, you’re failing. Spectacularly.
We demand urgent, visible action. Not words. Not PR. Results. Now.
Southall deserves better – and we’re not going away.
