Subject: Formal Demand for Written Response – Southall Neglect and Governance Failures

Dear Mr. Mason,
For over a month I have left telephone messages and sent multiple emails regarding the ongoing failures in Southall (26 May 2025 20:28). You have chosen not to respond. This is an abdication of duty.
Let me be absolutely clear: both you and the councillors copied on this thread are personally accountable for the systemic decline of Southall. The evidence points not to oversight but to deliberate neglect, which has directly harmed the wellbeing of residents and diminished the quality of life in our town.
This letter constitutes a formal demand for written responses to the following questions within 4 calendar days (including weekends):
1. When did you last undertake a walkabout in Southall accompanied by local residents?
2. How many CCTV cameras are fully operational in Southall, and how are they monitored?
3. Why have ward councillors failed to hold surgeries, depriving residents of direct access to their elected representatives?
4. On what basis was the Greenford recycling system altered to require booking slots, making it more difficult for residents to dispose of waste?
5. How many fly-tipping hotspots have you personally reported via your council app?
6. How many enforcement officers are currently allocated to Southall, and how has this number changed in the past two years?
7. Why have you refused to implement night-time patrols to catch offenders despite overwhelming evidence of nocturnal fly-tipping and related crime?
Failure to provide full, written responses will be treated as a deliberate attempt to obstruct accountability. In that event, I will have no hesitation in escalating this matter by:
Publicly publishing this correspondence in full.
Raising these failures across multiple social media platforms.
Pursuing further remedies available under law and governance oversight.

Let me remind you: you are publicly funded, salaried representatives. Your responsibilities are not optional. Residents of Southall are entitled to effective governance, responsive communication, and basic accountability. At present, we are receiving none of these.
This letter is the final opportunity for you to address these failures directly. The residents of Southall are watching, and your inaction will no longer go unchallenged.
I expect your full written response no later than 29/09/2025 , 4 days from now
Yours faithfully,

Sukhi Floria

  1. Yes Councillors need to reply to emails, this is not best practice if ignored. They are given responsibility which they need to take seriously.
