Key Health Indicators For Southall

1. Diabetes Prevalence

Almost 1 in 10 adults (aged 18+) in Ealing have diabetes.

In Southall, life expectancy for both men and women is below the borough’s average. In particular, women in Southall have the lowest life expectancy among all areas of Ealing. 

4. Deprivation & Social Determinants

Southall Broadway, Southall Green, and Dormers Wells are among the wards with the highest deprivation and lowest household incomes in Ealing. 

These areas also show a greater concentration of health risk factors (poor housing, more sub-standard dwellings, etc.) which correlate with worse health outcomes. 

5. Physical Activity, Obesity & Childhood Health

Borough-wide, about 2 in 10 children in Reception class and 4 in 10 in Year 6 are overweight or obese. Southall wards contribute strongly to these numbers.
